Why do visitors at Schodack make this comment time and time again?
We think it is because Schodack is committed to creating an environment
that seeks to bring out the absolute best in children, and in
doing so we attract like-minded families looking for a certain
set of values.
What are these values that are like an antidote to our rough
and tumble 21st century life? Well, core to our beliefs are that
active participation matters, kindness counts and sportsmanship
underscores everything we do. A brief example: after a game of
soccer or a fun arts and crafts period, Schodack campers naturally
thank their instructors. This simple appreciation is one small
example of the Schodack way of doing things.
Because Schodack brings out the best of childhood, because campers
thrive in our culture-of-kindness, they do not miss their TV's,
computers, cell phones, and electronic games. They are in an
environment that stresses simplicity, sharing, lots of laughter
and exciting challenges. Campers feel safe, loved, and appreciated—Schodack becomes like a second home.
And it shows. Most of our 130 staff grew up at Schodack and believe
in what is stands for. Schodack is committed to its small size—just
270 campers—our family atmosphere and amazing traditions.
We hope this web site will give you a glimpse of how we foster
this special camaraderie and fun. We love having visitors so
we hope to see you soon at Schodack.
